I don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of cauliflower, or at least I thought. Until I realized that it’s not the flower I disliked but how we were cooking it. So basically, not until I discovered Pinterest.
Rich in dietary fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, manganese, phosphorus, choline and biotin, Cauliflower is a fountain of youth (vitality), a healthy metabolism and balanced hormones – my priorities. Boiled Cauliflower, as I used to make it, is a more like a wet and salty sponge on the side of my rice, not very appetizing. Thankfully the beautiful people of pinterest thought of taking inspiration from the fluffy old-favourite and turn cauliflower into rice, well not really.
Cauliflower rice is basically a fluffly textured alternative to rice and to old-fashioned cooking of the power plant. Simple, quick and tasty, Cauliflower rice cooks in 5 minutes, thanks to Food Lovers Market convenient pre-packed, it sits pretty on my kitchen counter already chopped into tiny little flaurettes, at only R19.99. A quick rinse, dry and fry means I’m out of the kitchen quicker than you can say no-more-boiled-cauliflower-in-my-kitchen.
Thanks to Gimme something delicious for the recipe.
